Costume Information
In the coming weeks,
cast members of "Hello Dolly" will be contacted to set up costume
fittings. Fittings are being held at the Midcoast Performing Arts Center at 4
Pleasant Street – dress warmly, there’s no heat! Please try the side
entrance off the alley between the PAC and Wyler’s; the door is marked “Do Not
Block”.
We
are trying to get
all the women outfitted so that we can hold some craft sessions to make
hats
that will coordinate with dresses. If you have not been called to
come in
for a fitting, please call either Bev or Carol (Carol at 751-2209 and
Bev at 751-6856). Fittings take about 30 minutes. Fittings
are held most afternoons open from 4 or 4:30
to 6 with additional availability on weekends. If you find
yourself available during one of these times, please
call!
Below is a list of items
that cast members are asked to supply .At your fitting, please
double-check with the costumers to see if there is anything diffierent
that you need to supply:
Women
Character shoes or
other danceable shoes – booties with a small heel are great for the period
Tights/pantyhose
Optional: long or
short dress gloves (if you have them and they work with your costume]
Teens and Men
Character shoes or
danceable dress shoes
Black jazz shoes or
flats (waiters)
Black socks
Black pants (loose
yoga-style stretch pants for those doing acrobatics; regular dress pants
(straight-leg) for all others)
White shirt
(button-front, long-sleeve)---except for both Cooks, whose white tops will
be supplied by costumers
Children
Short white gloves
(small, stretchy "magic" gloves are good)
Black shoes (Mary
Janes or other flats)
Black socks
Black pants
White shirt
(button-front, long-sleeve)
White tights (or
other color to match your dress)

If you are
unable to supply a listed item, please let them know ASAP so they can
assist in filling your needs. MYT does have some of these basic items,
but not enough for everyone.
Finally, if
you are interested in helping with costumes in any way, please contact
them. Possible projects may include simple sewing alterations, or
tasks like decorating ladies' hats.
